GENRE: Paranormal Romance
About the Book
Some think she’s a monster. He thinks she’s the love of his life.
After she sent several men to the hospital, Dame Blanche Eva Winchester is learning to control her power. But she’s also bored to tears. Enter Prince Bertie, who offers her the chance to go undercover as a waitress in order to find out who’s attacking men in the parking lots of Folk-owned clubs. Bertie’s motives aren’t entirely innocent—he’s smitten by the lethal lady’s charms. But he and Eva discover the attacks are part of a more wide-ranging conspiracy, involving the very survival of the Folk.
As their investigations bring Bertie and Eva closer, Eva finds the downside of dating a prince, even one as yummy as Bertie. But when the prince is attacked, Eva swears to protect him. To overcome a ruthless enemy, the two must stage a last-ditch battle in the blizzard-ridden mountains. And this time they’ll need more than love and super strength to survive.

As he handed her back her key, she placed her hands on his chest and went onto her toes to kiss him. She felt his muscles stiffen beneath her fingers, but then his arms went around her waist, almost unwillingly. She opened her lips beneath his, tasting him, savoring the heat. Another moment, and he pushed her back against the wall, pressing his body to hers.
Not a lack of interest, far as I can tell. Most definitely not.
She rubbed one heel against the back of his leg, relishing his increased rate of breathing, the faint groan as he drove further. She could probably get the front door open, but she didn’t want to. She didn’t want to move away from what was happening.
And then not happening. He pulled away, raising his head as he caught his breath. “That wasn’t fair.”
Eva flexed her fingers. This was becoming ridiculous. “I’m not thinking about fair here, Your Highness. Let’s hear it. Why are you so opposed to having sex with me? Am I too common? Too scary? What’s with you, anyway?”
Bertie closed his eyes, as if trying to pull his scattered thoughts back together again. “You’re not common at all. You’re extremely rare, in fact. As for being scary, do I look frightened to you?” He stared at her, a muscle dancing in his jaw.
The third book in the Folk trilogy, Found, is an entertaining read that mixes romance with a bit of danger and mystery.
I’d not read the first two books in the series but had no difficulty in following the storyline. I also enjoyed the way the mystery unfolded even though the actual identification of the perpetrator was kind of anticlimactic.
The relationship between Bertie and Eva was believable with just the right amount of steam. If you’re a fan of characters with paranormal abilities, you’ll enjoy this book.
